   POJOs in Action

"A good way to quickly get up to speed with today's practices for lightweight development."
Floyd Marinescu, Founder, InfoQ.com Creator, TheServerSide.com

POJO Project Jumpstart

A POJO project jumpstart is a cost-effective way to ensure that you build an application that is highly maintainable and adaptable to the changing needs of the business. Our experienced consultants will create a robust, POJO-based, evolutionary architectural prototype, which implements key business scenarios and illustrates how to use lightweight frameworks successfully. We train your team on the chosen architecture, technologies and agile development techniques. After the jumpstart ends, we periodically review your team's progress as they finish the application.

A POJO project jumpstart consists of the following three phases:

Phase 1 - Gather requirements and plan   The goal of this phase is to identify the architecturally significant use cases and select the scenarios to implement in phase 2. During this phase we will work with your project's stakeholder to review and refine the requirements, and identify and prioritize the use cases to implement.

Phase 2 - Develop architectural prototype and transfer knowledge   In phase 2, we develop, document and test the evolutionary architectural prototype, which implements the scenarios chosen in phase 1. The prototype, which forms the foundation of your new application, illustrates how to use lightweight frameworks including Spring and Hibernate effectively. If necessary, we will also set up the development and build  environment including configuration management and continuous integration server.

We work closely with your existing team to bring them up to speed with the architecture and technologies. Whenever possible members of your existing team will help develop the architectural prototype. We will also hold informal training sessions to teach them about the architecture and, the chosen frameworks.

Phase 3 - Ongoing review

The goal of this phase is to ensure that the project stays on track as your development team fleshes out the application developed in phase 2. We will periodically review the development effort and facilitate any required mid-course corrections.
