Seeking experienced POJO consultants

Founded by Chris Richardson - the author of POJOs in Action - we are a consulting company that helps organizations build better software faster. We specialize in enterprise Java application development with POJOs and non-invasive frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate. We offer a variety of services including mentoring, training, application development, architectural reviews, and proof of concept development. Our clients range from startups to the IT departments of large companies.

We are looking for consultants to work with our clients located around the Bay Area on a variety of engagements. Our consultants need to have extensive experience developing enterprise Java applications, strong technical skills and be able to communicate exceptionally well with both business people and developers.

Here are the skills we are looking for:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Superb consulting skills
• Strong object-oriented design skills
• Aptitude for finding creative solutions to complex problems
• Ability to conceptualize and rapidly prototype from marketing and business requirements
• BS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
• Many years of hands-on software design and development experience
• Project management
• Extensive experience leading teams

Our consultants also need to have experience with many or all of the following technologies:

• Web/Application servers such as Tomcat, Jetty, WebLogic Server, or JBoss
• Hibernate, Spring and other open source frameworks
• Agile development techniques including test-driven development
• Experience with unit testing (JUnit/EasyMock/JMock/Selenium/…)
• Database design using MySQL and/or Oracle
• Web frameworks such as Spring MVC, Struts, JSF and Tapestry
• Strong familiarity with programming and deployment environments in both Windows and UNIX, open source tools and frameworks such as Eclipse, JUnit, and Ant etc
• Web Services: Axis, xFire, and Celtix
• Ajax technologies and frameworks
• Knowledge of UML, object-oriented design and design patterns
• Build tools Maven, ANT, and continuous integration servers such as CruiseControl
